How U-GO works
I made this. U-GO.
U-GO celebrates unfinished work. Everything here is built around one move: show what you made, say what's missing, and let another artist take it somewhere.
Open Projects
Upload something unfinished — a loop, a sketch, a rough cut, three pages, a garment idea. Describe where it's at, the vibe, references, and whether it's remote, in person or either.
Contribution slots
You say exactly what's missing. Each need is its own clickable category with its own brief — DRUMS: 'loose live drums, heavy but not polished.' Slots move from Open to Reviewing to Filled.
Creative freedom level
Every project and every slot is labelled Specific Brief, Loose Direction or Total Freedom, so nobody guesses how much room they have.
Submitting music
Music contributions need two files: your isolated stem, and a full preview of the original plus your part. That way the creator can combine accepted stems from different people.
Reviewing
Submissions arrive in your private dashboard, sorted by category and counted. Use This, Save for Later, Ask for Another Take, Message Artist, or Pass. You can accept several, from several categories.
Credits
Credit is on by default. Contributors write how they want to be credited, and may deliberately waive public credit. Accepted contributions attach the person and their role to the project, linked back to their profile.
Rights and boundaries
You keep ownership of your original material. Contributors keep ownership of their contribution unless you agree otherwise. Submitting something never grants commercial use. Set permissions and boundaries per project — no generative AI, do not sample, do not train AI on my work.
Feedback settings
Before anyone comments, they see what you asked for: Be Brutal, Constructive, Specific Question, First Impressions or No Critique Wanted.
Being built next
These live under Explore, Community and Projects rather than the main menu.
